NID

National Institute of Design (NID) was the first modern design institute in India, set up in 1961 by the Government of India under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry as an autonomous national institution for design, education, training, service and research. NID has gained international recognition as one of the foremost institutions in the field of design and as a catalyst for design in Indian industry. The Institute’s graduates are active in all sectors of the Indian economy and many have distinguished themselves in diverse fields such as textiles, product design, craft design and promotion, advertising, development communication and education.
